Push back racking is a high-density storage system that uses the Last-In-First-Out (LIFO) principle. Each lane consists of wheeled carts on slightly inclined rails. When loading, the forklift pushes each pallet back, automatically moving the carts further into the rack. When unloading, gravity causes the front pallet to slide forward as pallets are removed.
Push Back Racking Features
- High-density storage (typically 2-6 pallets deep per lane)
- Good balance between storage density and selectivity
- Operates on LIFO principle
- Effective for storing medium-turnover goods
- Often used in cold storage environments
