Qualifications
At Alta Material Handling we are looking for candidates with a skill set that has a high aptitude for the position with a continual focus on investing in one’s profession through additional training and learning.
- Previous experience in forklift, heavy equipment, diesel, or automotive repair, including Military, Guard, or Reserve service.
- Strong knowledge of electric and liquid propane units.
- Excellent mechanical aptitude with own tools.
- Proficient in HYPASS, Hyster TKC training software, and Hyster contact management system.
- Intermediate language skills: Ability to interpret safety rules, manuals, and reports; communicate effectively with customers and employees.
- Basic math skills: Perform simple calculations with money, weight, volume, and distance.
- Intermediate reasoning: Follow written, oral, or diagram instructions; solve problems with concrete variables in standardized situations.

- Physical/Sensory: Regular standing, walking, using hands; frequent talking/hearing; occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Vision: No special requirements.
- Lifting: Regularly up to 10 lbs.; frequently 11–25 lbs.; occasionally 26–100+ lbs.
- Work Environment: Regular exposure to moving parts; frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor conditions; occasional exposure to humidity, extreme temperatures, electrical shock risk, and vibration.
