Vertical Reciprocating Conveyors (VRCs)

We can design these to lift items as small as a box or as large as a car. Platforms anywhere from 3’x3’ to 30’x30’. At half the price of a regular elevator, a vertical conveyor lift can help you save money, reduce downtime, and increase efficiency. This all leads to one thing: more revenue.

  • Safer: Less risk of crashes or injuries from forklifts. No longer need forklift operators to raise pallets in high-traffic areas
  • Cheaper & easier: no forklift maintenance, special training, or OSHA certification is required

How Do Vertical Conveyors Work?

VRCs work by moving items between floors. They only move products–not people or forklifts. There are two general types of VRCs: hydraulic and mechanical.

Although VRC lifts are similar to elevators, they’re not classified as elevators, so you won’t have to follow elevator codes and regulations. VRCs are also sometimes known as mezzanine lifts.

Hydraulic VRCs

  • uses compressed fluid to generate force and move materials
  • best for fewer movements per day (less than 100 is ideal)
  • single-level transfers
  • lower weight capacity: up to 4,000 pounds
  • indoor and outdoor applications

Mechanical VRCs

  • chain over sprocket lifting system
  • smoother, bounce-free travel
  • best for heavy-duty applications
  • can handle frequent usage (over 100 uses per day)
  • multi-level transfers
  • higher weight capacity: up to 30,000 pounds
  • indoor and outdoor applications

Additional Features for VRCs

We offer the full range of accessories and safety features to get the most out of your system. These machines come with sensors to protect your products from a collision. Optional sensors prevent the lift from moving if the gate isn’t closed. You can opt to have the lift completely enclosed to prevent items from falling in or out. Safety cameras monitor the lift and stop movement in case of a chain failure.

We can install these in a pit or on the ground surface of your workplace. The pit will be flush with the ground floor. It works great with pallet jacks and reduces trip hazards. Surface-mounted VRCs use a ramp to get products onto the lift.

We’ll work with you to make sure the lift fits your needs.
