Planned Maintenance Program

- Visually inspect overall condition (Evidence of over or under-filling, operating temperature, corrosion, etc.)
- If required, clean off the top of the battery with a neutralizer, wipe off, and dry
- Check the battery for cracked jars and covers, and ensure all seals are intact
- Check electrolyte level: add water as required (water to be provided by the user)
- Inspect for cracked, damaged, or missing vent caps
- Check battery straps, cables, and connectors
- Measure and record voltage readings of all cells
- Check the specific gravity of representative cells
- Provide written recommendations where further repairs or maintenance are required
- Check D.C. charge rates and ensure proper sizing
- Inspect charging cables
- Inspect and validate ammeter
- Inspect the charging connector
