TPPL batteries offer key benefits over traditional, flat plate lead acid battery technology. They are less averse to opportunity charging and require less maintenance. Lithium-ion and hydrogen technologies deliver even greater benefits, including a constant voltage over a greater Depth of Discharge (DoD). Lithium-ion batteries have a lifespan of more than 3,000 cycles, hydrogen fuel cells are designed to last a lifetime, and both last longer per charge than lead acid batteries.

While traditional, flat plate lead acid batteries offer the lowest cost of acquisition, they require the most maintenance, including charge times and watering and equalizing the batteries. FLEX® Premium Thin Plate Pure Lead batteries are sealed to minimize this maintenance. Lithium-ion and hydrogen power sources have no need for equalizing or watering, eliminating the risk of damaging these investments by overlooking simple maintenance.
